Skypark Lighting Mock-ups

Chao Praya Skypark, as known as Sapan Duan, is a pedestrian bridge built on top of the abandoned Lavalin Skytrain structure. It is 8.5 meters wide and 280 meters long, connecting the communities on both sides of the Chao Phraya River. According to UDDC, the sky park is part of a pilot campaign to preserve the cultural heritage of communities in Kadijeen and Klong San areas.

LRIC, with the support from L&E, had a chance to install temporary lighting to the green walls and projections on the opening week of the Skypark. The inbound bridge leading up to the flower markets was projected with flower patterns, and the outbound bridge leading to Thonburi has a pattern of water ripples. We-Ef also supported lighting up the beautiful trees at a park entrance (opposite the Ong-Ang canal). Though it was temporary lighting for the opening week, it shows the potentials of landscape lighting that can create a safe, comfortable, and pleasant public space for our city.
