About Us

A research center based at the School of Architecture and Design, KMUTT

Lighting Research and Innovation Centre (LRIC) is a university-based lighting design research centre that focuses on human factors in light and lighting, visual and non-image-forming (NIF) effects of light, and real-world applications in buildings and urban environments.  Our research efforts aim at creating a high-quality luminous environment for its users with minimal impact on the environment.  Currently, our research areas include urban lighting, workplace, and hospitality lighting.  In addition to lighting design research, we also contribute to lighting education for building professionals and lighting innovation for the industry.

LRIC actively disseminates new knowledge and lighting best practices locally and regionally through demonstrations, seminars, and workshops.

We continuously expand our academic, professional, and public sector networks to drive from creating knowledge to value creation in real projects with a high impact on people and the environment.
